It would remain in his ownership until 2019 then imported to the UK by its third owner. We received the Ace at our AC Heritage works in 2020. The main objective of the owner was to retain the originality that Mr Lynch had kept nearing 60 years of ownership, including the factory original interior and racing livery that had been on the car since 1960. Our restoration process commenced including chassis, engine, steering, braking and electrical works costing over £30,000.

At this time many upgrades were fitted such as a dual circuit brake system, uprated competition rear hubs, uprated radiator, foam filled fuel tank, new brake callipers, lightweight battery, Kenlowe fan, oil cooler, front anti-roll bar, removable roll bar, alongside new MWS wheels and Avon tyres. A full breakdown of the extensive works can be provided to interested parties. More recently the Ace was serviced in November 2023 and supplied a new MOT certificate.

This highly eligible Ace holds current FIA papers until 2031 making it a perfect candidate for the Goodwood events. Alongside current FIVA papers for the world-famous road race the Mille Miglia. BEX 374 was accepted as a reserve car for the 2022 and 2023 event and has applied for the 2024 edition, holding its Registro 1000 Miglia eligibility card until 2028.

An extensive history file featuring the ownership chain, mechanical revision notes of Mr Lynch, period photos, and the most recent restoration documents are included in the sale. The spares included are the full weather gear, multiple tonneau covers, removable roll bar, and racing aero screen.
