1963 AC Ace - RSX 5029

This AC Ace left the factory on the 24th July 1963 and exported to the Canadian importer Cambridge Motors in Quebec. The original colour was Svecia Red with a red interior. and the flat screen was fitted when new. The engine number is S247798E and also had overdrive. It was originally fitted with a Raymond Mays head with 3 SU carburettors but this has since been replaced with an iron head with three SUs on a Barwell manifold. A replica Ruddspeed rocker cover was acquired in the 1980s when more were manufactured via the ACOC.

We know the car was purchased in 1983 with a recorded mileage of 11,600 by John Bowles in Ontario who then joined the ACOC. No history is known prior to his ownership. The head appears to have been changed from aluminium to iron during his ownership for a reason unknown.
In 1989 the car was sold and imported into the UK by Nigel Dawes, a dealer. At one time it had the registration number of 9750 AC in the UK, but as it was sold to a new owner in 1996 in Belgium. Although interestingly the DVLA records in the UK have the tax running out in Dec 2017.

We would love to hear from anyone has more information on the car or would like to add to the history please feel free to contact us here at AC Heritage.
